Overall the Clinton, Essex and Franklin County real estate market is up 6% from last year for all property types, though residential sales have continued to track closer to 2013 figures than last year’s record-setting year. As predicted, the number of real estate transactions increased throughout the second quarter. Clinton County residential sales volume is up over 40% from the first quarter, and on par with results from 2013.
First Quarter 2015 – Real Estate Market Update
Residential property sales in the region for the first quarter of 2015 were down in all counties as compared to 2014, but on par with figures from 2013. This can likely be attributed to two main factors. 2014 was a record-setting year in real estate, and our long, drawn-out winter slowed sales activity over the first quarter of 2015. We have experienced an uptick in real estate activity over the last few weeks – as the weather has improved – and we anticipate that the real estate market will rebound over the second quarter.
